Hello, and welcome to my blog. I'm a natural light photographer living in the Boise, Idaho area with my husband and 5 kids. I enjoy capturing images of all kinds, but I am truly in love with photographing newborn babies. The first days of life are precious and magical and so very fleeting. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have at info@LauraFarrisPhotgraphy.com. Thank you for visiting my little corner of the web :)

CUTE babies : Kuna Idaho baby photographer

These are my 8 month old nephews. They are such sweet babies. They're just starting to get around by themselves and are trying to be independent. My sister sure has her hands full!

The beach

We stopped and had dinner at a restaurant by the ocean in New Jersey. The beach is so pretty. I wish we had one close to us. I took a few pictures of my sister and her daughter. I love beach photos!

St. Paul's Chapel

This church is right across from the World Trade Center. It is so old and so pretty. It looks so out of place amongst all the big modern buildings. I couldn't help but take a few pictures of it. Some of the tombstones date back to the 16th century. There are even Revolutionary war veterans buried there. It's amazing that it wasn't hurt on the September 11th attacks on the WTC. Pretty cool.

How cute is she!

I spotted this little girl when we were in FAO Schwartz. I mentioned to my mom that I'd love to photograph her because she was so gorgeous. Her whole family was beautiful. I wasn't about to ask her parents if I could take a picture though. Well, leave it to my mom. She marched herself right over to her dad while I was looking for a doll for Lily, and asked if I could take a few shots. The lighting in the store was horrible, but they managed to turn out okay, considering. I would love to have a full session with this little cutie!

Stephanie : Pocatello Idaho maternity photographer

Here is my big sister Steph. Can you believe she's having her sixth baby. She looks awesome! She is about 26 weeks pregnant. I felt bad for both of my pregnant sisters having to walk around Manhattan in 100 degree weather for 6 days. They did great though. Good thing they're in shape!

Noelle : Meridian Idaho maternity photographer

This is my little sister. You can't really tell by these pictures, but she is 28 weeks pregnant here. She looks so cute. It's kind of hard for me to believe she's having a baby. Sometimes when I look at her, she still looks like she's 6 years old. Weird.

New York

I got back from New York yesterday. I went for a week with my mom, 3 of my sisters and my niece. We had lots of fun, but I'm super tired now. We did so much walking and not a lot of sleeping. I need a vacation. I've got tons of pictures to go through and edit. So, I'll be pretty busy over the next week or two. I've only edited a few so far, but wanted to post at least one from our trip. There will be plenty more to come, I'm sure. This was taken of the Brooklyn Bridge from the boat tour of the island that we went on.

1st pictures with the new camera

UPS brought my replacement camera yesterday, so I had to try it out. Lily was running all over the place. So, I trapped her in a basket and stuck a hat on her head. That distracted her for a few minutes. Man, she's such a busy body!

I had to take a couple of Bo too, in honor of his Kindergarten graduation.

Broken camera update

The place I bought my camera from (B&H) was so great when I called them up to tell them about my camera breaking. They sent a new camera out the same day. They even gave me the new instant rebate which made it $200 cheaper. YAY! They've got great customer service and I recommend using them for any camera related purchases. I received the replacement camera today. So, I'm ready to resume my regular shoots!
