Hello, and welcome to my blog. I'm a natural light photographer living in the Boise, Idaho area with my husband and 5 kids. I enjoy capturing images of all kinds, but I am truly in love with photographing newborn babies. The first days of life are precious and magical and so very fleeting. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have at info@LauraFarrisPhotgraphy.com. Thank you for visiting my little corner of the web :)

Only 4 days old

This little guy was so awake and aware for such a new baby. I'm surprised I got any of him with his eyes closed. He was probably just blinking, and I got lucky. Oh.....isn't he sweet! He's got a beautiful big sister too. Just look at those eyes.

Kennady

I processed these in all different ways. I used retro photo, vintage and sepia. They've all got some texture to them too. Oh, I LOVE textures!!

Isn't she a cutie pie!

Little man

He looks like such a little man in his tiny tux. So adorable.

I've been noticing....

that some of my pictures look really pixilated when I post them on here. I'm not sure if it's the way I've re sized them for the web or what. I'm trying to figure it out. Any of you seasoned bloggers out there, I'd love any advice on how to fix that problem. In the meantime, you can click on any of the pictures and see them in better resolution.

My new lens

So, my new 28-75 2.8 tamron lens came in the mail a couple of days ago and I was dying to try it out. My kids would not cooperate at all. So, I decided to go outside and recruit one of the neighbor kids. Luckily, this darling little girl was willing to help me out. I got some great shots and she made a $1. Pretty good deal huh! I think I'm going to like the new lens. Notice the different processing techniques I used on these.

Real life

I love it when I can get shots that look unposed and natural. I feel like I've captured a real moment and not a manufactured one.

Here are a two examples of selective color

The sweet side

This little Miss has lots of sides to her personality. I think I managed to capture the sweet one in these shots.

A perfect model

This little girl was so fun and easy to photograph. A real natural born model. What a cutie.

So girly

I've recently learned to make tutus & have gone a little tutu crazy. I've made lots of them already. I've even got a newborn one! I can't wait to try it out. I just ordered some pettiskirts too. They are gorgeous! I'll post some pictures of them as soon as they come.
